What kind of clothes should a young guy wear with a dress shirt?
That's really awesome dude. Upping up your style. It really says a lot when someone starts to wear dress shirts instead of t-shirts to school. Getting to the mature style.
You can easily mould in your dress shirts with the clothes that you already have. If you have flannel shirts I always thought that they look great with denim jeans. The rugged thick material meshes really well with worn in denim.

If you’re not a big fan of buttoning up your flannel you can wear a white/grey shirt underneath and wear the button up flannel as an over-shirt.

You can also wear flannels and denim jeans with sneakers. If you have dress shirts such as Oxford cloths try to opt for the “button downs”. The button downs are great because they’re s lot more casual and dress shirts without button downs are usually for work and worn with ties which might be too formal for your school.
I’m writing this from my phone and I’m about to head to work. I’m wearing a white oxford cloth shirt which is definitely too formal for school. Also wearing it with chinos.

Here’s a button down dress shirt that looks more casual for school:

Wear them tucked in with a belt that matches the colour of your shoes.
Hope this help dude.
